A Super Christmas Giveaway to say thanks to my readers!
First, a story…Several years ago a very nice businessman with the resources to do such a thing commissioned America’s premier Civil War and historical artist, Mort Kunstler, to come to our hometown to paint a Civil War scene. The talented Mr. Kunstler has been called the contemporary Norman Rockwell, his work appreciated around the globe. The result of that commission was Moonlight and Magnolias and Magnolia Morning, two beautiful paintings set on the grounds of the historic Arlington Plantation, a home just down the road from where I sit typing these words. You can read what Mr. Kunstler said about the scenes here.
Moonlight and Magnolias
Some time later, I was privileged to meet the businessman who commissioned those pieces and not very many days afterwards I got a huge blessing in the form of a surprise phone call from his secretary. In a gesture of appreciation for my efforts here at All Things Southern, my new acquaintance had decided to gift me with a number of the signed and limited prints to sell in my online store! The Magnolia Morning prints have since sold out. I have a small number of the Moonlight and Magnolia prints still available in the store. They’re currently valued between $750 and $1400.
Here’s where the story gets good, y’all. I’ve often tried to tell y’all how much I appreciate anyone who buys my books out of so many choices of reading material out there. Maybe this will help me to express that gratitude. I’m having a super Christmas giveaway for those who might be purchasing my books as gifts this year– with the winner of the drawing receiving a limited edition fine print of Moonlight and Magnolias.
Entering is easy. 1) Buy one or more copies of Suck Your Stomach In and Put Some Color On or Sue Ellen’s Girl Ain’t Fat, She Just Weighs Heavy from my online store or anywhere else books or sold. 2) Mail the receipt to All Things Southern, 610 Schneider Lane, Lake Providence, LA 71254.
*The print will not be matted or framed.
*The receipt has to be dated in December 2011.
*The drawing will be held January 1st.
That’s it! Good luck, y’all!
Hugs,
Shellie
P.S. If you’re local, you can see Moonlight and Magnolias displayed for a limited time at Paul Michael’s in Monroe, LA. Other participating area stores are Simmons Sporting Goods in Bastrop and Every Occasion in Winnsboro, LA.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

I love that scene From the War of Northern Aggression. I just wish I was one of those in uniform. It is a great painting. I would definably have it in my office if I can get any work.

WHAT? WHAT? A drawing!!!!! Count me in, for sure!

You and MIss Pearl are the bomb bigadees in my book! And Dixie and I get gifts? OH BOY!!! I shall poll her and get back to you. 😉
Sandra Smith
Since Miss Pearl and I don’t have an autographed copy of “Suck Your Stomach In” we are going to order one this week…but we want it to be personalized. Along with that she and I would both like to have our names put in the hat for the drawing. Now…what would you and Dixie like for Christmas?

Oh gosh Shellie, I bought your book Sue Ellen’s Girl Ain’t Fat, She Just Weighs Heavy in October from Amazon, darn, not a Dec 2011 receipt. I would truly love the print because in my mind that is what I remember that time period to be since I am a HUGE Gone with the Wind fan! I love your humor and I get so excited when your emails hit my inbox. I somehow feel that we are just next door neighbors in the large picture. Me being from Alabama and you from Louisiania so even though we are football team rivalries we can also be Southern belles off the football turf! hehe! By the Way…..Roll Tide! hehe!
shellierushingtomlinson
Drats, Rhonda, I’m sorry you’ve already bought your book, which leaves you without a Dec. receipt. I had to figure out some sort of parameters for this thing. Maybe you can think of someone to gift one to? 🙂 Thank you so much for your words about my emails. They made me smile– and even overlook that roll tide you slipped in there. 🙂 Have a great day, my friend!

Thx, Zibilee! You’re a sweetie. 🙂
