And We’re Off!

Last night’s book launch for Sue Ellen’s Girl Ain’t Fat, She Just Weighs Heavy was held at Simmons Sporting Goods, the South’s Largest Hunting Outfitters store. I thought that was pretty fitting for a book that Kirkus Reviews summed up as “a little bit redneck and a whole lot of charm”! And for the record, I loved that line.

Here are several pics. My fine husband Phil and Emerson Ann, the Bellerina Czar, my good friend and gospel singing sensation Brenda Copeland are In the first two. The last one– now that was funny. We tool thy one as evidence. There you have my friend, Robin, wife of owner Jeff Simmons and one of their best customers– who did not come in for a single thing in that 70,000 square foot store but a stack of books!!! Robin thought that was funny cause her man had picked at her about the “cute little tablecloth, refreshments, and our girl party!”
