I take it back, Atlanta!

Okay, you know all those things I’ve said before about the Atlanta airport. Things about it being too big and how it’s a black hole you get sucked in and can’t get out of while you try to wait to be rerouted on the inevitable delay? Those things– I take ’em back. I take it ALL back.

Last weekend my dear author friend, Karen Zacharias, was traveling through Atlanta and sent me this picture from the airport bookstore.

Oh, yes’m! That would be my sweet little book right there in the middle of some good company!  Floored I was. Floored I remain. So I take it back, Atlanta. I love you to pieces! Seriously, I might drop in just to say, “Hi!”

Hugs, Shellie

I was connecting in Atlanta for a flight to LAX a few years back and would have had only a meer 15 minutes between my arrival time and my departure time do to some earlier rescheduling, so naturally I was expecting to miss that flight and have to make another later. When I arrived in Atlanta I found that the gates had changed and my connection was just a few gates away. I rushed over to find an empty waiting area but there standing at the door of the jetway was one of the Delta agents. “Are you Mr. Shelton?” she asked. I showed her my boarding pass as she laughed and said “Holding the door for ya!”
Even though I was the last to board I had made it! Sadly though, my luggage didn’t. It didn’t arrive till the next morning.
