Make sure your children hear you first

Let’s get one thing out in the open. I expect blow back for speaking to this subject. I’m okay with that. I’ll choose to love those who agree with me and those who don’t. I won’t be silent because the truth is now considered intolerant or hateful. I intend to keep speaking truth in love as long as I have voice and opportunity because one day I’ll stand before God and answer for what I did with what I knew. That said…

I am deeply grieved at the injustices being done to our children. The number of kids going to gender clinics is growing at an insane pace as adults actively encourage children to explore choosing genders that make them more comfortable in their own bodies. How is it possible to ignore the very power of suggestion such adult encouragement is bound to have on impressionable kids with immature reasoning abilities?

Studies show transitioning happens in a domino effect among friends, indicating the part peer pressure plays in their decision. “Gender affirming” adults insist they’re encouraging transitioning to prevent suicide, but studies prove self-harm, depression, and suicide among our young is actually rising as trans medicine becomes more accessible. Despite the absence of long-term studies proving that not transitioning children who are questioning their gender encourages the likelihood they’ll take their own lives, cross-sex hormones, puberty blockers, and other irreversible steps are being promoted to younger and younger kids and touted as compassionate steps taken by caring adults.

I just attempted an Internet search to see how many genders are recognized in 2022. There was little agreement. Apparently, it’s infinite and fluid. The thing they did seem to agree on was that anyone who still believes there are only two genders is simplistic. That’s me. Simplistic Shellie.  And God made them male and female.

One has to suspend all critical thinking and common sense to believe little kids are capable of weighing the life-time consequences of permanently altering their bodies. If my youngest grandson had been given the option to identify himself, he would’ve chosen to be a dinosaur. I’m almost afraid to ask if there is a hormone therapy for that because nothing seems too outrageous to be considered in our society’s gender erasing march.

Parents and grandparents, we must make sure our kids and grandkids are grounded in their true identity. We must teach them that they’re children of the one true God, woven together by Him in their mothers’ wombs, loved and purposed from birth.

13 For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
    all the days ordained for me were written in your book
    before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
    How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
    they would outnumber the grains of sand—
    when I awake, I am still with you.

The only way to inoculate your kids against the lies of the devil is to equip them with Truth from God’s Word. As they grow, talk to them and pray over them.  Above all, remember that you have more than adequate resources for this job. You can protect and empower your kids to grow up into healthy mature believers who are shining lights in a dark world, even now. For your God is with you and He cannot fail.

Hugs,
Shellie

P.S. The image shown is Weston, that youngest grandson, the day he learned the hard truth from his mama that there were no dinosaurs on the earth. Bless it.

    Thank you for taking a stand on this crucial social issue. I continue to pray for my grands to know and believe God’s Word on this issue LITERALLY! I know you have a voice that is reaching a wide audience and I’m so thankful for leaders like you who bravely speak truth in a world where that is being constantly challenged ! God bless you and your ministry, Shellie.
