Where We Stand

Hello friend,
I hope this finds you well. I realize I haven’t written in a while, which will make tonight’s letter seem unusual as it is of a more serious note than I normally send, but I’ve got the state of the world on my heart and I wanted to reach out to this community to discuss where we are, as I see it. No doubt, my passion about this subject is related to the fact that I’m currently writing on my next book project. It’s a Bible Study from the gospel of John on how to live fearlessly and joyfully in our turbulent times. I hope to be able to share some more news about that book project shortly, but for now, don’t miss the joyful part. I’m anything but depressed this evening and my glass is way more than half-full. It’s overflowing in Christ Jesus! By the way, I posted these words on social media earlier, so this may be remedial for you if you follow me there, but it’s important to me to share them here, too, with you. That said, the following is for anyone with eyes to see…

A BLM activist who opened fire on a Kentucky mayoral candidate got out of jail the following day because BLM crowdfunded his bail money on Go Fund Me.

Go Fund Me would be the same organization that attempted to seize monies raised for the Canadian truckers because they “posed a threat”. Go Fund Me had to settle for refunding the monies because of public outcry.

In similar news, Trudeau is confiscating vehicles and freezing bank accounts of nonviolent protestors after declaring a national emergency in Canada.

Taken together, this is where we are:

Canceling someone’s platform is old news.  We’ve moving to the step where anyone espousing views not sanctioned by those in power can have their finances stripped and their livelihoods cancelled.

By now, if you don’t see what’s happening it’s because you don’t want to.

I’m not surprised at where we are because I’ve read The Book and I’m not scared of where we seem to be going because my hope is in Christ Jesus.  I will continue to joyfully lift up His name and invite people to find life in Him before this world is rolled up like a garment.

Isaiah 51:6,8, “Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be forever.“

I will also keep standing up for freedom, mine and yours. I’ve not given up on my country. I will continue to vote. I will keep speaking out, and I will never stop praying because this culture may be able to cancel me but no one can cancel God! Praise Him! Let me know how I can pray for you.

Blessings, friends! He reigns…

Hugs,
Shellie
