Why You Should Care About Big Tech Censorship and Media Bias Regardless of Your Party Affiliation
This letter is not addressed to the social revolutionaries behind much of our nation’s unrest. Yes, they’re among us and their motivation isn’t new. It can be found by any number of names throughout the history of civilization. Their goal is to concentrate power so they can rule unchallenged. They want us to be so fearful of X, Y, or Z that we surrender our personal rights and freedoms in exchange for the promise of peace, protection, and provision.
I’m writing instead to my fellow Americans regardless of party affiliation who still want a United States of America to exist, who cling to the shining light of America’s original dream, government by the people for the people, and who treasure free and unhindered speech.
Stating the obvious here but we have as many differences of opinion in this nation as we have citizens. We can each look at the same information and come up with different conclusions. The right of free speech has historically guaranteed us the free and open sharing of these conclusions, sans the ruling of arbitrary authorities deeming one as more or less valid than the others.
Big tech censorship and their media partners would have us believe we’ve come to a time when these rights must be sacrificed to protect us from misinformation.
My fellow Americans, are you sold on that argument?
Do you consider it a valid reason to accept the death of free and protected speech?
Big Tech and their media partners believe We the People can no longer be trusted to draw our own conclusions. Our thinking must be fed to us by the more advanced few. People must be canceled and their speech controlled lest the electorate engage in a healthy exchange of ideas. If these self-appointed arbitrators hold positions that are so superior, why do they fear spaces where their opinions aren’t universally accepted, without question, from the misguided masses?
In response to this censorship, another array of social platforms are gaining traction, promising to protect free speech for all. These sites are being categorized as dangerous by the dominating status quo. No surprise there.
Before I make the argument leading me to write this post, let me be fully transparent. I’ve been exploring these new platforms, but I haven’t left the old ones, yet. Why? Because as a believer, I’ve been entrusted with the ministry of reconciliation. It’s my joy to tell people that God reconciled Himself to man on the Cross and to implore men to reconcile themselves to God. I can’t operate in an echo chamber and answer that call. But, there’s another reason, and it’s one I’m hoping will resonate with you whether or not you’re a Christ follower. Consider with me.
Where is this mass retreat to our own personalized and curated conversation corners getting us? Is this really the answer?
If you’re content with the censorship because it hasn’t been applied to you, what leads you to believe that isn’t subject to change? Are you confident your positions will always align with theirs? What if they move from your own beliefs and it becomes necessary to mute you as well? If you don’t think it could happen, take a deep dive into history. It’s chilling to see how consecrated power always leads to tyranny. History repeats itself — unless we learn from it.
I propose to you that it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. We can learn to disagree again. We don’t have to give up our cherished right of free speech and flee to our echo chambers. For starters, we can demand that our lawmakers quit grandstanding for their bases and act to remove the legal shield that allows Big Tech to monitor speech without retribution.
To do anything less is to risk walking into an Orwellian world hand in hand. Mark it down. At that point it won’t matter if we’re left or right.

Perfectly said! Freedom of speech is one of our basic rights from God, not government. I am praying for America, God have mercy!
