We can have so much more than a meaningful Christmas. Jesus can form Himself in the Bethlehem of our hearts as surely as He grew up in the ancient city if we’ll own our complacency and ask God to turn it into holy hunger.   We are pilgrims, designed for more. In Him we can be satisfied without being settled, loved without being lazy, rest while ever reaching.

The goal of walking through Christmas with our eyes trained on Jesus isn’t to make it through the holidays without going straight running crazy (although much can be said for being sane come January). The goal is nothing short of knowing the transformative presence of the Savior the baby was born to be!        God won’t drag us into the deep and wide life, and we can’t

It’s impossible not to recognize the increasing commercialism of Christmas, and it’s a good and necessary idea to ask the Holy Spirit to help us stay focused on its true meaning. But as we walk through this season, let’s make sure our observations don’t lead to communication that alienates those who most need to hear the good news of Jesus! Okay, I’ve got some potentially creepy words for you today.  We’ll be reading straight from the fifth chapter of Daniel if you want to open your Word. However, I'm going to be sharing it in storytelling style. Now, I know this next admission will also be shocking, but I'm aiming to add some commentary

I was at the Dallas airport, riding the Skylink headed to another terminal, when I took a phone call from my sister.  I didn’t have her on speaker, and I was trying to keep my voice down, because no one enjoys loud one-sided conversations, but I sensed I was bothering the older woman seated directly across from me. I thought I knew why. The nature

I’m Shellie, a laughter loving story stacking farmer’s wife, country cook, mom, and Keggie to five adorable grands with one on the way—HOORAY! I snuck that one in on y’all, but that’s okay. The kids snuck this one in on us, too. Everyone thought they were through. Including the shocked but excited parents. I’m also a speaker, author, and Bible teacher known as the Belle
