Decorating Disaster of Perdido Bay
Hey y'all! I see all of your lovely messages on twitter and Fbook and I'll get to 'em, tomboy honor. In the meantime, we have agreed that we have seriously weak sand castle skills in this family! We were hoping that encrusting our castle with shells might rescue it. Not so much
Don’t Feed the Author
Hey y'all, this morning's book signing/discussion for Sue Ellen's Girl Ain't Fat, She Just Weighs Heavy at the Lincoln Parish Library in Ruston, LA exceeded my expectations! As my author friends know full well, we NEVER know what to expect from these types of events. Sometimes, the most you can expect in the way of a crowd (unless you're John Grisham) is two or three people
The Sweetness Czar…

Another Ode to My Older Sisters
Thinking about y'all tonight as I call it a day. Will cover you and yours in prayer. In the words of one of my all-time fav child books "I love you forever, I love you always. I'm kind of holding it to my chest right now. ) Afterwards I ran to the store and came home to find Phillip, Carey, and the girls swimming off

I'll be adding the briefest of commentary. :) Around here the Fourth fun began on the Second when the Mahers arrived from Houston and the sprinkler
Ode to My Older Siblings
Hey y'all, I got so hot washing down the porches earlier that I decided to drink straight from the water hose. Haven't done that in years. I guzzled actually, and boy did it bring back the memories of growing up on Bull Run Road
Because I Can
My early morning thought progression of which I feel I must share though I feel sure my grown kids and their spouses wish I wouldn't: This is such a pretty tree-- It's a shame this side of it isn't as pretty since we lost that big limb
No kin to me–
When I was a little girl growing up on Bull Run Road one of my favorite toys was a stuffed monkey with a yellow banana in his hand. I can STILL remember chewing on that plastic banana during stressful times, (most likely moments of torment inflicted by my two older sisters, regardless of what they tell 'ya.) I love monkeys, always have-- but I don't claim any
