As I write this, I am sitting in my favorite writing spot: my back porch. I hear the roar of a small plane buzzing just above our tree line, and I offer thanks that I do not have to hit the ground or take off running for cover. I acknowledge the fact that I am wealthy simply because I do not live in a war zone where bomber planes terrorize me or threaten my very life every single day.
