Breathe. Pray. Vote. Reposting my voting thoughts

Breathe. Pray. Vote. Reposting my voting thoughts below because this is the last day to vote and I tire of being called racist, nazi, deplorable garbage and having my patriotism mocked because I’m voting platform over personality. Flipping my camera so the word on my shirt won’t be backwards. If you sit this out you’re wasting the privilege and disdaining the sacrifice of every single American who has given their lives for you to have this right. Yes, believer, God is sovereign but for His own reasons, He allows us to be a part of HIStory.

I’m not voting for a bestie-in-chief, I’m not voting for someone I would like to take to lunch, and I’m certainly not voting for someone to lead my family in the faith of Christ. There is no one on any ticket qualified for that divine calling. Such responsibility lies with each of us.

I believe the right to vote is a privilege and it’s my duty to vote for the platform that comes the closest to aligning with my values. I believe in the sanctity of life. I believe in parental rights and school choice over government mandates and intrusion. I believe in respecting the rule of law. I believe in energy independence. I believe the real threat to our democracy is the media’s collusion with those in power and our country’s slide into socialism and the Marxist redistribution of wealth. Such systems have proven to be failures for the governed wherever they’ve been attempted. I’m concerned about the growing threats to our constitutional rights and the increasing social pressure that dares us to speak up lest we are labeled and cancelled, which is all the more reason for each of us to use our voice. And finally, I know the economy was better four years ago and our farming operation was in a stronger position than it is today.

These are some of the reasons I voted Trump/Vance. You may not be able to understand my positions. If you’re voting for Harris/Waltz, I can’t understand yours, but I pledge to be civil in our differences. I believe this is the most consequential election of our lifetime, but my commitment to love you as Jesus would have me love you far exceeds it. I am praying for us all. Hugs, Shellie

Over and over in the two decades we’re been doing our 30 Days of Giving Drive, you have demonstrated your own grateful hearts by giving to someone in need. I realize this one was a little different. I chose to respect Farmer Brown’s privacy and not share his image or exact location and yet, you trusted me when I said the need had been fully vetted. Goodness, that makes me weepy. Thanks to your generosity, we’ll be sending Farmer Brown of Western NC $4,500 to help his family recover from the devastation of Hurricane Helene.
