Don’t Feed the Author
Hey y’all, this morning’s book signing/discussion for Sue Ellen’s Girl Ain’t Fat, She Just Weighs Heavy at the Lincoln Parish Library in Ruston, LA exceeded my expectations! As my author friends know full well, we NEVER know what to expect from these types of events. Sometimes, the most you can expect in the way of a crowd (unless you’re John Grisham) is two or three people (and that’s IF you brought your mama, BFF, or other traveling partner.) I have often joked about putting a “Don’t feed the author” poster on the book signing table . We do tend to look like lonely exhibits at the zoo!
All the more reason then for yours truly to appreciate the room full of people waiting to hear about Sue Ellen!
See that mic stand right there, I may have grabbed it and hammed it up a little– or a lot…which I suppose might begin to explain the last two pics. I realize it looks like a very special revival service, but it’s really not. After I told the crowd about my growing Czar list at All Things Southern, (that list can be found in my Facebook notes) and how easy it is to become a Czar, (you just decide what you want to be Czar of and I say “Czar you are” and ta-da– you’re a Czar), several folks were interested in getting their titles!
During the book signing afterwards we had several official christenings.
Please meet the Czar of Encouragement:
And the Czar of Cheerleader Memories:
Thanks, Ruston! Y’all rock. 🙂
Hugs, Shellie
So what do you want to be the Czar of?
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

Okay, I was totally with you until I saw that laying on of hands thing and then I began to think next thing I know Shellie is going TV Evangelist on us.
Prayed for you — so glad it went so well. Of course they love you, Shellie. We all love you!
