Holy Week, Eight Days with Jesus

Hey friends! I hope this finds you and yours well. I haven’t been back to your inbox the last few days because I didn’t want to wear out my welcome, but I did tape readings all week! The last one posted just a couple hours ago. You can find those archived on my Youtube channel.

I’ve also been busy on another project I’m excited to share with you. Holy Week is upon us. Surely you can agree from wherever you’re sheltering in place that this Easter will be uniquely different, all over the world, than any you and I have observed before it. I’m not taking this realization lightly.

I’m committed to walking through the eight days of Holy Week with my eyes fixed on Jesus. I want to focus on what the Word tells us He was saying and doing on the corresponding days and listen to hear what He is saying to me— to us, here in 2020. Yes, this is your invitation to join me. I’m knee deep in preparing an outline for you and we’ll begin this Sunday, April 5^th.

The account of Jesus’ last days before His crucifixion can be found in all four gospels. If you’d like to do some early reading, here are those texts: Matthew 21-28, Mark 11-16, Luke 19-24, and John 12-21. We’ll be focusing on different passages throughout our daily studies. The timing of a few of the early narratives are still debated by scholars as to which day of the week they actually occurred, (as in Monday or Tuesday) so I don’t offer my outline as chronologically definitive, but the events are Biblically solid and worthy of our adoring attention.
