No Place Like Home Signing

Last Friday, I signed Sue Ellen’s Girl Ain’t Fat, She Just Weighs Heavy at Jehovah Java, a coffee and gift shop belonging to my dear pastor and his wife, Bro. Don and Mrs. Linda  Boyette! Would you just look at what they did here? Everyone who bought a book also got a bit of pink cotton candy in a cute gift bag tied up with ribbon that matched the book cover. How cute is that? I was touched indeed by their thoughtfulness.  I snapped this pic before they laid out the goods, several different sweets for the sweet, but you can see a little of the food in the following pics.

Of course, being at home meant my folks got to come out. Carey and Phillip brought the grands! Here are the baby czars now with Mrs. Arilla, a precious lady I grew up with at my home church, Melborne Baptist in Alsatia. Love this woman.

And here are my fine folks with Carlisle, The Sweetness Czar. No better parents could ever be found!

I can’t believe I neglected to get a pic with Carey and Phillip OR Bro. Don and Mrs. Linda, (and if you know Linda you know she wouldn’t have wanted to be in the forefront anyway!) but I did. Drats.

Oh, well, here are some pics of other Freaders. I wish I could post all of you, but I’ve been having volunteers taking these with the cell phone rather than the Nikon and they don’t always turn out! Please know, though, that I appreciate every single person who made the effort to come out. THANK YOU!

In closing, I just have to post a pic of my precious friend Gene who brough me zinnas from his own flower garden in honor of the occasion! How blessed can one little author be?

Okay, I’d like to beg forgiveness for the quality of some of these pics again, and express my deep affection to y’all for following the tour. Here are a couple places you can find me this week:

Books and Java in Marshall, TX on June 2nd from 1:00 – 3:00

Facebook party, June 2nd at 5:00 CST. (More on that in the next post!)

And Lorielee Books in Vicksburg, June 3rd from 4:00 to 6:00.

Before these three events I’m dashing off to Houston tomorrow to get sugah from the  Baby Beau Czar! See y’all on the flip flop.

Hugs,
Shellie
