We PHAT and We’re Done
Hello folks, let’s chat… This just in. I feel PHAT. Not that kind of fat. I mean, that too, ‘cause, candy corn. And ‘cause I’ve already made TWO batches of horned toads this Fall. (If you don’t know about horned toads and yummy goodness that happens when you combine Karo syrup, sugar, and corn flakes, well, try to forget the reference. It’s better this way.) But, I was talking about PHAT the movement. Let’s get back to that, shall we? PHAT is a new opportunity to air your grievances and wave home-made posters because apparently that’s the going thing. Only, I think I’ve hit on something we can all unite behind.
PHAT stands for People Huffy About Thanksgiving. You heard right. I’m here to save Thanksgiving! Every year the stores start putting Christmas out earlier and earlier and we PHAT people are fed up with y’all squeezing out Thanksgiving. We’re done here. You feel me? I love Thanksgiving, everything about it—the food, the purpose, everything and I’m tired of it getting the barest mention when it deserves a full month! With this in mind, I’m starting a movement. My BFF helped me launch it on social media. You can find our introductory video there, but not right now. Stay with me. I’m not through.
Storeowners, I want y’all to know that we will not be breaking your windows and burning your stores down cause that’s just ignorance gone to seed, so breathe and let’s all review. Oct- some people do Halloween, I prefer celebrating Harvest. You say tomato, I say tomata. November— THANKSGIVING— taking time to give thanks for our blessings and intentionally expressing that gratitude. December, December is for Christmas. Get it? Got it? Good. Join our movement. Make a sign, share our video. Do you part to stop the madness. PHAT. People Huffy About Thanksgiving. Stick a fork in us PHAT people. We’re done.

I just finished “Hunger is a mighty fine Sauce” and loved this book as much as the other three I own. Your writing always makes me feel good about the Lord and the world. Thank you Shellie, you make my life a brighter place to be.
